Till Kuenkler


Till received a masters degree from the Cologne University for Music, Diplom in 2012. While studying here, Till also studied at the Mannes College for Music in New York where he received a scholarship from 2006 – 2011. Later in 2012, Till studied at the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt, Germany until 2013. He most recently received a scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music for the Doctor of Musical Arts program from 2013 – 2015. His stipend was award by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).

From 2008 – 2014, He performed as a substitute with the Bergische Symphoniker, Opera Cologne, Opera Essen, Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra, Gateway Classical Music Society New York, Rheinische Kammeroper, Neues Rheinisches Kammerorchester.

During this time, Till also performed international tours with band projects from New York and Cologne. He was fortunate enough to performances in cities like New York, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Austin (SXSW), Berlin, Amsterdam, Bratislava, Vienna,
Brussels, and Prague.

From 2014 until 2015, Till performed with Dave Taylor and the NY Trombone Consort at Barge Music, The Loove (Brooklyn) and worked on CD production and concerts with Low Brass Connection in Amsterdam and Enschede, Netherlands. He was a soloist with Mark Gould and the Manhattan School of Music Brass Ensemble and was also a soloist at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall at the annual DAAD Music Fellow’s concert. Till also performed concerts at the Opera Handan and Beijing Modern Music Festival.

Since 2015, Till has regularly performed with In Situ Art Society and guests such as Roscoe Mitchell, Toshinori Kondo, Mette Rasmussen, Chris Corsano and Barry Guy.

From 2015-2017, Till has performed concerts with Ensemble Musikfabrik in Cologne and Klangforum Wien at Konzerthaus Wien and Salzburger Festspiele. Concerts at Moers Jazz Festival with EOS Kammerorchester. CD production with works by composer Gordon Kampe and concerts with LUX: NM contemporary music ensemble in Berlin. Concerts with Ensemble United Berlin at Konzerthaus Berlin. Soloist at Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik, performing public privacy #3 by Brigitta Muntendorf.

Since 2016, Till has also been a member of Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra, Lauer Large Big Band and the Omniversal Earkestra. As a member, he as performed at Salzburger Festspiele, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Köln Philharmonie, Jazz Festival Ludwigshafen.

From 2009 until now, Till has been a member of Ensemble Garage (based in Cologne, Germany), and has performed for the Deutschlandfunk Radio, WDR Radio, CD production for the Siemens Foundation along with numerous concerts at festivals in Istanbul, Cologne, Berlin, Krakow, Donaueschingen, Darmstadt, Rochester, NY, Helsinki.
